The shred-ders process waste wood such as stumps, green waste, railway ties, and construction and demolition material to four inches or less using a slow-speed, high-torque, single shaft. Metal is discharged using a cross-belt magnet. The grind-ers process clean wood and green waste using flail hammers, which can handle some contamination.
