Other options include heated/cooled operator booth, hydraulic levelling capabilities, and three-axle transports. SENSORTECH LAUNCHES NEW MOISTURE ANALYZERS Sensortech has launched its new NIR 6000 Series moisture measurement analyzers. These analyzers measure moisture in real-time and are ideally suited for on-line biomass applications. The NIR 6000 series include four product line: the 6000 series, 6300 series, 6400 series and 6410 series. NIR 6000 Series: The NIR 6000 Series of On-Line NIR Moisture Analyzers offer precision measurement and moisture control for industrial applications. Sensortech has pioneered industrial applications of moisture measurement technology for over thirty years and the NIR 6000 Series of moisture analyzers packages the latest NIR technology into a sophisticated instrument engineered for durability and precision measurement. It has been designed to provide accurate readings using the molecular structure of your product and to deliver an effective contribution to your process control. NIR 6300 Series: The IP67 rating of the NIR- 6300 Series has been developed to withstand severe wash-downs, excessive dust environments, and to protect it against the effects of immersion. Its rugged stainless steel enclosure makes it ideal for harsh environments, high temperatures, and aggressive food grade applications. NIR 6400 Series: The Explosion Proof Series of NIR moisture analyzers provide an advanced level of protection from hazardous environments and meet the compliance standards of most regulatory bodies. The NIR 6400 Series is accompanied with the appropriate certificates required of the classification including the nameplate indicating the distinct classification for which it has been approved. NIR 6410 Series: The NIR-6410 is designed for environments where combustible dust is present under normal operating conditions. It is equipped with a pressurization/purging system, is ATEX compliant upon request. VERMEER LAUNCHES THE TR620 TROMMEL SCREEN Vermeer introduced a new trommel screen that features a new design allowing for an optional third product conveyor to optimize productivity. The TR620 is able to handle the majority of screening needs for biomass producers. “This new trommel screen can fit into a smaller space than our other models, which is a requirement for customers who have a limited amount of space on their site,” said Jeff Bradley, product manager for recycling and forestry at Vermeer. The standard TR620 is equipped to separate material into two sizes based on screens selected. The optional front fines conveyor permits the creation of three unique products from incoming material without the need for another processing step or additional machine. The front fines conveyor can be mounted on either side of the trommel screen for additional jobsite flexibility. As with the other Vermeer trommel screens, the TR620 features the intuitive Vermeer ACS control system. The TR620 can be controlled through either the Vermeer DP10 display, which is mounted on the machine’s control panel, or with a handheld transceiver remote. This allows the operator to have complete control of the trommel whether standing nearby or operating from a loader. Four user-defined program buttons enable operators to easily return to previously used settings when screening multiple material types. The remote gives the flexibility to make immediate adjustments when incoming material type or volume changes. Operators can also adjust the conveyor height from the remote if necessary to help reduce blowing material. Quick-change tensioned screens help reduce the time required to change screens, which is especially important when processing a wide range of materials that require different end products. A large door allows for drum access and removal in addition to providing ease of serviceability. Square lift bars inside the drum enable more material to be processed at a slower speed, helping to reduce fuel consumption and prolong drum life. The TR620 features a 120-horsepower (89. 5 kW) Cummins Tier 4 Interim (Stage IIIB) engine that meets all U.S., Canada and European emissions standards. PETERSON UNVEILS THE NEW 6700D HORIZONTAL GRINDER Peterson Pacific Corp. has introduced the Peterson 6700D, the company’s largest horizontal grinder. Powered by a 1125hp (839 Kw) Tier II, Caterpillar C32 engine (or an optional Tier 4i Caterpillar C32 engine), the 6700D is designed for the toughest jobs. With a feed opening of 66 x 50 inches (168 x 127 cm), the 6700D can even process large stumps that used to be reserved for tub grinders. The grinder is particularly suited for land clearing operations or other applications where mobility is desired. With the R+ package, the 6700D can be configured as a mid-speed grinder to handle heavily contaminated piles, or a high-speed grinder for typical land clearing operations. Peterson’s threestage grinding process with an up turning rotor and large grate area enables the 6700D to produce materials to exact specifications. Our quick-change multiple grate system makes it easy to customize grate configurations to produce a wide variety of finished materials. Grates are removed through an enlarged access door on the side wall of the 6700D. The 6700D features Peterson’s Adaptive Control System, which controls all components of the feed system to optimize output. This system monitors the grinding load and varies the speed of the feed system to keep the engine working at the top of its power curve. It automatically accelerates the feed system when the engine load is light, slows when the load is high, and reverses if the engine speed drops. It even monitors the engine temperature and varies the cooling fan speed to minimize power usage and reduce fuel consumption. MÜHLBÖCK CHIP DRYING TECHNOLOGY COMES TO N.A. Mühlböck Holztrocknungsanlagen Gmbh, Eberschwang (Austria) appeared at the Timber Processing & Energy Expo in Portland, Ore., in October to promote its Type 1003 belt dryer for wood chips to the North American market. In combination with its heat recovery system, the Mühlböck dryer for wood shavings Type 1003 achieves a reduction in heat consumption of 50-60%. Using conveying technology, the product being dried is supplied continuously and fed onto the drying belt where it is dried to its defined target moisture in a fully automated system. Built for plants looking to dry volumes of 1tph-15tph, the system has a modular constriction design. The 1003 has an easy-toadjust moisture content control and is suited for any size of chip. The system can be operated at low temperatures or with excess heat from power plants and cogen plants, hot water with a supply temperature of 50°C-115°C, or steam.
